Milkshake is a delicious, nutritious drink that can be prepared in many different ways. With the whole family cooling off with a glass of milkshake this summer, what could be better!
What is Milkshake?
Originating in the United States in 1885, the milkshake was an adult drink consisting of eggs and whiskey. Then, the blender was invented and by the 1950s, milkshakes became famous and appeared on the menus of restaurants, bars or even food stalls, presented in large glasses with straws, Umbrellas or strawberries on the side of the glass.
How to make a milkshake
When making milkshakes, the balance between ingredients is essential. Here are some rules when making a milkshake for the perfect drink!
Sufficient amount of milk
One of the common mistakes when making milkshakes is that you may use too much milk. Each milkshake is only 30ml at most (equivalent to 1 ounce); too much milk will dilute the mixture. Too little milk will make the mix a bit difficult to drink at first, but as the cream melts, it will be easier to swallow. Some people like this thick drink, so you can adjust the recipe to suit your taste.
Note when making milkshakes, never put ice in the milkshake. Ice will break up the smooth taste of milk and cream.
I was using whole milk when brewing will give you the most intense flavour. Plant-based kinds of milk such as soy milk, almond milk and rice milk are also perfectly suitable.
The perfect creamy taste for your recipe
vanilla ice cream
With many different recipes, you need to use vanilla ice cream to make the finished glass of milk taste just right. The vanilla ice cream acts as a base that allows you to get the flavour right, even when making chocolate, strawberry, or cookie crumbs milkshakes.
Soften the previous cream
To get around the milkshake, you need to add moderately soft cream to the milk during processing. Ice cream that is too hard or too cold will affect the consistency of the milkshake. You will have to add a lot of milk to soften it, and the cream-to-milk ratio will be completely ruined. When you take the ice cream out of the freezer, you need to leave it at room temperature for a few minutes. If you can scoop the ice cream quickly, it means it is soft enough to make.
Here are the steps to make chocolate milkshakes with a blender:
Step 1: Soften the ice cream by taking it out of the fridge and letting it sit for a few minutes. Meanwhile, cool the glass of milk by placing it in the freezer.
Step 2: Using a large ice cream scoop, take out 3 vanilla ice cream balls and put them in the blender along with 60 ml of pure fresh milk.
Step 3: Add 60 ml of chocolate syrup and one teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Step 4: Blend the mixture until smooth and then pour into a cooled glass. You can drizzle whipped cream on top or sprinkle with sprinkles, a cherry or drink nothing like that.
